Transform Windows XP to Windows 7 is available now and no need to wait anymore until the release of Windows 7. The Windows 7 themes on XP was created by Deviant Art user deskmundo who has created some other excellent themes.

To install Windows 7 on XP, all you need a windows XP version with a uxtheme.dll patched files. you can check out read the following article about uxtheme.dll that explains how to patch the file in Windows XP home and professional. Once the file is patched you can load user made themes and not only the official Microsoft themes.

This Windows 7 theme is based on the Milestone 1 release of Windows 7. Which the theme design is differences from the version that use on presentation at the D6 conference.

Step to transform Windows XP to Windows 7

  • Download the Windows 7 theme from here.
  • Install “UXTheme Multi-Patcher 6.0.exe” from “UX Theme Patcher” folder. Or download from here for XP SP3.
  • Double-click “Windows 7 M1 VS.msstyles” in “Theme\Windows 7 M1 VS” folder to install and enjoy!

I believe the Deskmundo start looking and design the new UI of Windows 7 which similar like D6 conference.
