Sounds like someone installed the wrong app above. I just installed this, no issues at all. It didn't once ask for money or even display an ad. Click the about and it is simply, free. It has a lot of control and I am fairly impressed with this. I would ask how this appears to be trialware when there is NOTHING to signify it as trial. Memory errors, blank screen, sounds more to me like there were other issues going on besides using the firewall. Anyway, I haven't had a problem yet and tried it on XPpro, Win 7 X64, and went smooth on both.

PC unusable after installation (twice) - Windows Explorer wouldn't run - memory errors - blank screen. Had to restore from a drive image. Beware.
Also doesn't appear to be free, but 'trialware'. Hard to tell, though, 'cos never able to run it!
And, unhelpfully, no link to publisher's site from this page.
